Renegade Beta Patch
Version 1.031
25 June 2002
Written by Chris Rubyor from Westwood:
We'd like to invite you to download the new BETA patch and help us test it for bugs. To help in the process we've created this forum where you can post up your feed back and problems you have encountered. The single and multiplayer feedback you provide will be extremely important in helping us better the new patch for everyone else out in the real world.
Please be aware that this patch has NOT BEEN TESTED by our official QA department. There is an unlikely possibility that this beta patch will require you to reinstall Renegade if it is found to be defective. USE THIS PATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK! WESTWOOD TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT MAY HAPPEN TO YOUR MACHINE.
To help us test the patch simply click here to download. Once the file has been downloaded to your computer double click on the patch file and it will begin updating Renegade with the new file updates. Two official beta servers have been setup (names), but you are free to set up your own game server. Just make sure you label it appropriately so players will know which servers they can play on.
Version 1.031 changes (06-25-2002)
- fixed the superweapon->quit exploit
- mods now support editing of armor.ini, strings.tdb
- buildings can be made of tiles in addition to terrain
- added the "edit_vehicle" console command for physics tweaking
Most of the new enhancements are centered on mod support. So all you modders out there please give this new patch a test and post up your feedback for us to read. Whether it does not work, or it does work - we need to hear from you! We would also like to hear back from those of you playing the single player missions.
For more information please visit the Renegade Beta Patch Ver 1.031 Forum on the Official Renegade Forums.
