Command & Conquer: Covert Operations
Command & Conquer: Covert Operations is a mission disk for Command & Conquer.
It includes following features.
- 7 new GDI and 8 new NOD missions.
- 10 new multiplayer maps.
- 7 new songs in Redbook Audio format - so you can pop it in your CD player.
- Automatically patches your copy of Command & Conquer to the newest version available.
As stated on the Command & Conquer Overview page there were two version of the original Command & Conquer released, however only one version of the Covert Operations mission was released, the DOS version.
The Covert Operations DOS CD can be installed over C&C Gold but it will be necessary to reboot your system before attempting to play C&C Gold. Windows 95/98/ME users take note. After restarting your computer, you may get an error message saying that Windows cannot run INSTICON.EXE. This condition can only be fixed by manually editing your WIN.INI file and removing any reference to INSTICON.EXE. To edit WIN.INI, click on the Start Menu, select Run.., type 'sysedit' and click OK.
Further information for users of Windows XP. The situation described above should not affect your system. However C&C Gold does require a small patch and some compatibility settings to be made before C&C Gold will work.
