The Soviets: New Units
Now that Yuri has left the Soviets, a number of gaps need filling with new beastly units. Below you can find descriptions of what we know about the confirmed new units.
| Conscript |
Description: Machine gun with singular fire mode. Not as effective as the allied G.I., but more affordable, and is paradropped in greater numbers
| Flak Trooper |
Description: Cannon attack versus ground units, flak attack to bring down sky attacks. Excellent mobile defense versus Kirov and Harrier attacks, better than Conscripts against tanks and infantry.
| Engineer |
Description: Can be used to instantly repair a building and to capture an enemy or civilian building. Weak and unarmed, Engineers are best mobilized in an enemy base after all defenses are wiped out.
| Attack Dog |
Description: Leaping attack at all infantry, unable to attack machine units. Can detect and kill incoming spies automatically, excellent for base defense versus early troop drops.
| Tesla Trooper |
Description: Electrical beam attack, when placed near a Tesla coil, the coil's damage is increased. Best when used in combination with a Tesla coil, equivalent to Prism Tower.
| Crazy Ivan |
Description: Carries dynamite charges, and attaches them to units/buildings at close range. Dynamite will kill most units, and bring some buildings down. Death causes large explosion. Definitely not for defense.
| Yuri |
Description: Mind control of any ground unit, can create a psychic vortex that kills nearby infantry.
Vortex will vaporize a troop drop, and mind control can end any tank rush.
| Chrono Ivan |
Description: Built by infiltrating a spy into allied Battle Lab. Carries dynamite charges, teleports using allied chrono technology. Not necessarily worth the money, no compare to the Chrono Command, but can make an excellent cleanup unit after Yuri Prime has destroyed defenses.
| Yuri Prime |
Description: built by infiltrating a spy into soviet Battle Lab. Mind control of any ground unit, can create a psychic vortex. Has the ability to mind control units from over a screen away at maximum resolution. A player can only build 2 of these at a time(1 in barracks, one in vats)
| Desolator |
Description: Nuclear cannon, and generator that creates a field of radiation. Excellent for irradiating incoming troops, but best if used in generator mode, and will destroy incoming tanks.
| Terrorist |
Description: Carry bombs which explode upon death or collision. Keep these far from your base and troops at all time, though their range is rather small, it will do heavy damage to nearby units.
| Rhino Heavy Tank |
Description: Cannon attack to all ground units More powerful than the Grizzly Bear Tank, can cause a quick loss for any allied player early in the game.
| Flak Trak |
Description: Cannon attack against ground units, flak attack against sky units. More expensive than the flak trooper, with the only added advantage of more durability. Very poor for offense.
| V-3 Rocket Truck |
Description: Powerful long range missile which reloads at a slow rate. A half dozen can destroy any construction yard, crippling an opponent early in the game.
| Terror Drone |
Description: Leap attack against infantry, internal attack against tanks and miners. Often used in a rather cheap tatic of cripling another player's economy by destroying all of their miners. Effective for defense and stopping all rushes.
| Apocolypse Tank |
Description: Double cannon attack against ground units, missile attack against airborne attacks. Heavily armored and tough to kill, they are useful on offense and defense.
| Kirov Attack Blimp |
Description: Fast dropping bombs with no forward or backward momentum. Very slow moving, but even the best surface to air defenses will have a trouble bringing down a single one. Effective in groups of 2+
| M.C.V |
Description: Unable to attack, when deployed becomes a construction yard. Requires a Supply Depot to build from a War Factory.
| Demolition Truck |
Description: Nuclear explosives set to detonate on destruction or collision. Three or more can destroy nearly an entire enemy base.
| Tesla Tank |
Description: Electrical Tesla coils mounted on a tank. Mobile defense, can do severe damage to an enemy base, but with low range.
| Amphibious Transport |
Description: Lacks any form of attack, simply for transport. Largest carrying capacity available. Slower moving than the Nighthawk Transport.
| Attack Sub |
Description: Torpedo attack to all watercraft. Invisible to many floating targets, the attack sub is the perfect stealth attack.
| Sea Scorpion |
Description: Cannon attack against shore units and other watercraft, flak attack against airborne units. Can bring down planes and Kirovs better than another other defense, but rather ineffective against other watercraft.
| Dreadnought |
Description: Two long distance V-3 rockets. Minimum range requirement makes it ineffective against other watercraft, but is excellent versus static defense on land.
| Giant Squid |
Description: Tentacle attack rocks a ship back and forth until it is destroyed. Ships under attack are paralyzed, and can only be released by a dolphin attack.
